Allergy

In the list of Coombs and Gell classification of 1963 allergy is the first hypersensitivity type and it means reaction of the organism to some unknown ingredient. It is characterized as speedy and acquired and in more general terms can be described as a reaction to ingredients that is somehow different form normal. The term 'allergy' appeared in 1906 for the first time when Clemens von Pirquet studied some of his patients who tended to develop unusual reaction to such things as dust or pollen and in some cases for certain meals. Some cases of allergy require medical treatment and every patient with the tendency to such hypersensitivity should have this indicated in his or her medical history. This is a necessary measure as it helps to protect patients from prescribing the medications that can aggravate the condition. In the list of treatments that tend to alleviate allergic response in people are Clarinex, Allegra, Atarax, Claritin, Zyrtec and etc.
