Trihexyphenidyl is a generic name for Artane and it is intended for the therapy of Parkinson's disease and its symptoms (stiffness, poor muscle control, tremors and else). It can be used with the same conditions but originating from the following medications' effect: perphenazine, chlorpromazine, fluphenazine, haloperidol, thiothixene, etc.

The medicine should be taken with water either with meals or not. Follow the instructions for the right usage of the medication. The medication can influence your mental activity and reactive ability thus be careful in the situations requiring attention. It is recommended not to spend too much time on the open sun and heat.

Be cautious taking the medication if you are hypersensitive to trihexyphenidyl; have had narrow-angle glaucoma; suffer from any bowel disease or have myasthenia gravis; if you are liable to any heart illness; let your physician know about all your conditions, allergies or other problems for the treatment to be adjusted. Refrain from combining the drug with a tricyclic antidepressant or an antihistamine and consult your doctor on the account of any prescribed or over-the-counter drugs you need to take simultaneously. It is not recommended to take the drug either if you are pregnant or nursing an infant.
