The medication is designed for the patients with type 2 diabetes that means non-insulin-dependent diabetes when where is enough insulin in the organism but it fails to cooperate with the cells properly. Avandia enforces the cells to become more insulin-acceptive. The medication can be used either independently or in complex with some others (except insulin and nitrates). Patients with type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent) are not treated with this medication.

Refrain from alcohol and be cautious when combining Avandia with other medications as some of them can increase your blood sugar and cause hyperglycemia, others on the contrary may reduce your blood sugar and evoke hypoglycemia, and some medications just can bring about unpredictable results.
