The medication represents a beta-blocker and its purpose is to make the heart beat regular as long as it is possible. In other words it treats ventricular arrhythmias.

The mode of administration requires the medication to be taken either with meals or not but always in the same way. Betapace should not be mixed with antacid containing aluminum or magnesium. The therapy presupposes that you complete the course and not terminate the medication administration even if you start to feel better.
