Generic name of the drug is chlorthalidone and clonidine. It represents a compounding of alpha agonist and diuretic. Therapeutic indication: hypertension.

Contraindications: hypersensitivity to Clorpres and to thiazides or related diuretics, or to sulfonamide medicines, problems with urination. Other possible contraindications: other intolerance reactions, a blood vessel disease affecting the brain, a stroke or recent heart attack, gout, liver disease, porphyria, lupus, bronchial asthma, and others. The medicine can interact with some other drugs such as: beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, tricyclic antidepressants, barbiturates, corticosteroids, narcotics, digitalis glycosides, diabetes medicines, and some others. Be cautious giving the medicine to the kids. Pregnant women are recommended to consult a doctor before taking the drug and breast-feeding ones are prohibited to take it.

The remedy is usually taken on a regular basis either with meals or not. Do not exceed the prescribed period and the necessary amount. Should you leave out a dose do not take a double one to make it up. It is also required that the whole course of therapy was completed.
