Generic Cordarone

Generic name of the medicine is amiodarone. Another brand name is Pacerone. It is a preparation of an antiarrhythmic and is intended for life-threatening recurrent heart rhythm disturbances in people who cannot bear it or if other medicines of the same purpose failed to help.

The remedy is intended to be taken on a regular basis and better with meals. It is advised that whole course of treatment was completed and not recommended to stop administration abruptly. Do not make up for a left out dose taking more medicine at a time than needed. Administration of the drug in kids should be carried out with extreme care. Abstain from grapefruit products and alcohol.

Contraindications: intolerance response to Cordarone, a second- or third-degree heart block, shock due to serious heart problems, fainting due to slow heartbeat and some others; current therapy with cisapride, dofetilide, an H1 antagonist, an HIV protease inhibitor, a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor, or a streptogramin. Other possible contraindications: a liver or thyroid problems, lung illness, low blood pressure, and some others. The drug can be incompatible with calcium channel blockers, other antiarrhythmics, narcotic pain relievers, thyroid hormones, anticoagulants, beta-blockers, clopidogrel and some others therefore you should be careful taking them together. Pregnant women and breast-feeding ones are prohibited to take it.
