Generic Covera Hs

Generic name of the drug is verapamil. It represents a calcium channel blocker. Therapeutic indications: hypertension and also chest pain.

Contraindications: hypersensitivity to Covera-HS, second- or third-degree heart block; very low blood pressure; severe heart failure, atrial fibrillation or flutter and a pre-excitation syndrome, current therapy with dofetilide, eletriptan, flecainide, ketolides, macrolides. Other possible contraindications: other intolerance reactions, failure or a recent heart attack, kidney or liver disease, aortic valve disease, outflow obstruction, muscular dystrophy, or neurologic disease, and others. The medicine can interact with some other drugs such as: beta-blockers, barbiturates, rifampin, aldosterone blockers, clindamycin, clonidine, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, erythromycin, and some others. Be cautious giving the medicine to the kids and elderly people. Pregnant women are recommended to consult a doctor before taking the drug and breast-feeding ones are prohibited to take it.

The remedy is usually taken on a regular basis either with meals or not. Do not make any transformation to a pill; take it whole. Do not exceed the prescribed period and the necessary amount. Should you leave out a dose do not take a double one to make it up. It is also required that the whole course of therapy was completed. Abstain from grapefruit products and alcohol.

The adverse effects can be expected in some cases. Should you have any worrying sensations like sleepiness or giddiness, suspect an overdose or have some questions apply to your physician or other healthcare provider.
