Generic name of the medicine is medroxyprogesterone. It's a preparation of a progestin and is intended for regulation of ovulation and menstrual periods. Other therapeutic indications: absent or irregular menstrual periods, abnormal uterine bleeding, prevention of overgrowth in the lining of the uterus in postmenopausal women on the therapy with estrogen hormone replacement therapy.

Contraindications: intolerance response to medroxyprogesterone, a hormone-related cancer, liver disease, a history of stroke or blood clot. Other possible contraindications: heart disease, migraine headaches, epilepsy, high blood pressure, a thyroid disorder, severe pelvic pain, condition of diabetes or lupus. The drug can be incompatible with some medications therefore you should be careful taking them together. Pregnant and breast-feeding women are prohibited to take it.
