Generic name is diltiazem hydrochloride; other brand names are Tiazac, Dilacor XR, Cardizem CD, Cardizem LA, Cardizem SR, Cardizem.

Dilacor ER means an extended-release, once-a-day tablet form of diltiazem. The medication refers to calcium-channel blockers and it functions by influencing the amounts of calcium in the heart and muscles. Therapeutic indications for the usage of the drug are angina pectoris and also hypertension.

Contraindications: low blood pressure problems with liver and a history of heart attack, "sick sinus" syndrome or second- or third-degree heart block, states of pregnancy and nursing.
