Generic name: diltiazem hydrochloride. The remedy refers to calcium channel blockers. Therapeutic indications for the usage of the drug are hypertension and angina. Mind that the remedy does not cure the high blood pressure, but it does help control it.

Depending on whether hypertension or chest pain is treated the dosage and the regularity of administration is stated. The medication should be taken during the whole period of therapy. Do not make up for the left out dose taking two pills at once.

Pregnant and nursing women are better to avoid using the medicine and get a proper consultation beforehand. If you have allergy to diltiazem make your doctor aware of it. Contraindications for the therapy with the drug: kidney or liver illness, bowel blockage, congestive heart failure, sick sinus syndrome, heart attack or block, hypotension. Do not combine the remedy with cisapride, atorvastatin, bisoprolol, carteolol, celiprolol, esmolol, labetalol, epindolol, sotalol, and some others.
