The remedy refers to calcium channel blockers. Generic name: diltiazem hydrochloride. Therapeutic indications for the usage of the drug are hypertension and angina. Mind that the remedy does not cure the high blood pressure, but it does help control it.

In case you have allergy to diltiazem make your doctor aware of it. "Sick sinus syndrome", kidney or liver disease, bowel blockage, congestive heart failure, heart attack or block, hypotension are contraindications for the therapy with the drug. Do not combine the remedy with cisapride, atorvastatin, bisoprolol, carteolol, celiprolol, esmolol, labetalol, epindolol, sotalol, and some others. Pregnant and nursing women are better to avoid using the medicine and get a proper consultation beforehand.

The medication is presented in the form of controlled-delivery pills. The drug must be used without any transformation; tablets taken whole with water; regular schedule must be adhered to. Depending on whether hypertension or chest pain is treated the dosage and the regularity of administration is stated. The medication should be taken during the whole period of therapy. Do not make up for the left out dose taking two pills at once.
