The generic name for the medication is oxybutynin. It is a preparation of an anticholinergic and is indicated for the treatment of bladder problems.

The following conditions are contraindicative for the therapy with the drug: intolerance to the drug, bladder blockage or problems with urination, stomach or bowel problems, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, heart problems caused by severe bleeding, and some others. Other possible contraindications: hypertension, nervous system problems, liver or kidney illness, an enlarged prostate, myasthenia gravis, an overactive thyroid, or glaucoma, and some others. The following preparations might be incompatible with the remedy: anticholinergics, azole antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, bisphosphonates, phenothiazines, and some others. Breast-feeding women are recommended to consult a doctor before taking the drug and pregnant ones are prohibited to take it.

The mode of administration requires that the drug is taken on a regular basis with water not exceeding the amount. Do not make any transformation to the Ditropan XL extended-release pills. Should you leave out a dose do not take a double one to make it up. It is also required that the whole course of therapy was completed.
