The generic name for the medication is erythromycin. Other brand names: PCE, Erythromycin, Oral, E.E.S., Eryc, Ery-Tab, Erythrocin. It is a preparation of an antibiotic and is indicated for the treatment of various contagions. It is not presupposed for the cases of viral infections.

The following conditions are contraindicative for the therapy with the drug: intolerance to the drug, diarrhea or a stomach or intestinal infection, heart problems, kidney or liver illness, and some others. The following preparations might be incompatible with the remedy: benzodiazepines, digoxin, hexobarbital, dihydroergotamine, bromocriptine, blood-thinners, ergotamine, tacrolimus, theophylline, cyclosporine, carbamazepine, disopyramide, seizure medications, and some others. Pregnant women are recommended to consult a doctor before taking the drug and breast-feeding ones are prohibited to take it.

The mode of administration depends on the drug variation and also on the type of infection. It requires that the drug is taken on a regular basis better on an empty stomach not exceeding the amount. Should you leave out a dose do not take a double one to make it up. It is also required that the whole course of therapy was completed.
