Generic name of the medicine is nitrofurantoin. It is a preparation of an antibiotic. Therapeutic indications: urinary tract infections.

Contraindications: intolerance response to nitrofurantoin, kidney disease, jaundice or liver problems. Other contraindications: an electrolyte imbalance or vitamin B deficiency, G6PD, diabetes, anemia. The drug can be also incompatible with antacids, magnesium salicylate, probenecid, choline magnesium salicylate, sulfinpyrazone, and some others therefore you should be careful taking them together. Pregnant women in 2nd - 4th weeks of pregnancy are recommended to consult a doctor before taking the drug and breast-feeding ones are prohibited to take it.

The remedy is intended to be taken on a regular basis washed down with water. Do not exceed the necessary dose. Do not make up for a left out dose taking more medicine at a time than needed. It is recommended that the full course of treatment was completed even if you feel better after some time.

The drug has a list of adverse effects. Provided you experience any disturbing sensations or suspect an overdose apply to your physician or other healthcare provider.
