Generic name of the medicine is furazolidone. It is a preparation of an antibiotic. Therapeutic indication: infectious diarrhea.

Contraindications: intolerance response to furazolidone, G6PD deficiency, diabetes. The drug can be also incompatible with alcohol, antidepressants, cocaine, caffeine, guarana, allergy and colds medicines, migraine, high blood pressure and heart medicines, MAO inhibitors, tramadol, and some others therefore you should be careful taking them together. Pregnant and breast-feeding women are recommended to consult a doctor before taking the drug.

The remedy is intended to be taken on a regular basis. Do not exceed the necessary dose. Do not make up for a left out dose taking more medicine at a time than needed. It is recommended that the full course of treatment was completed even if you feel better after some time. Do not take the drug with tyramine containing foods. Wait for up to 4 days after taking furazolidone if you need to take alcohol beverage.

The drug has a list of adverse effects. Provided you experience any disturbing sensations or suspect an overdose apply to your physician or other healthcare provider.
