Generic Indocin Cr Active Ingredient: Indomethacin

Generic name of the medicine is indomethacin. It's a preparation of a NSAID. Therapeutic indication: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis; also bursitis and tendonitis.

Contraindications: intolerance to Indocin, to aspirin or an NSAID, recent or planned bypass heart surgery, current therapy with diflunisal, another NSAID or triamterene. Problems with liver, other intolerance reactions, diabetes, dehydration, depression, mental or mood problems, a blood disorder, bleeding or clotting problems, hypertension - all this should be considered before taking the medication. If you are in the state of pregnancy (especially during the last trimester) or you are breast-feeding it is forbidden to take the drug. It is crucial to be careful while combining the medication with different drugs (especially with diuretic, potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements, NSAIDs, anticoagulants, corticosteroids, SSRIs, probenecid, cyclophosphamide, cyclosporine, digoxin, lithium, methotrexate, quinolones, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, beta-blockers, and some others) for fear of their undesirable interaction.

The drug should be taken on a regular basis with water. Do not make any transformation to the pills; the tablets are required to be taken whole. Do not make up for the left out dose taking two pills at once. Be very careful giving the remedy to kids younger than 15 years of age and to elderly people.
