It is a preparation of a nitrate (generic name of the drug is isosorbide dinitrate). Therapeutic indication: angina (chest pain) caused by heart disease. It is not presupposed for the treatment of immediate angina attack.

Contraindications: hypersensitive response to Isordil Titradose; current therapy with a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor. Other possible contraindications: bleeding in the brain, a recent head trauma, an overactive thyroid, heart problems, other intolerance responses. The medicine can be dangerous for a fetus and infant therefore pregnant and nursing women are advised to consult the doctor before taking it.

The medication represents time-release pills. The mode of administration: the medicine must be taken on a regular basis not exceeding the prescribed amount. Do not make any transformation to the tablets; take them whole. Should you leave out a dose do not try to make up for it taking a double one. Do not give the drug to kids.

The medication has a number of adverse effects. It evokes tolerance, dependence and abstinence syndrome therefore consult your doctor on the particularities of its administration.
