The medication (generic name ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) is designed as a contraceptive and is used for the pregnancy prevention. It functions by staving off ovulation. It has other brand names: Alesse, Aviane, Enpresse, Lessina, Levlen, Levlite, Levora, Lutera, Lybrel, Nordette, Portia, Sronyx, Tri-Levlen, Triphasil-21, Triphasil-28, Trivora-28.

The drug should be taken on a regular schedule not exceeding the amount. The mode of administration as very specific and depends on weather you start on your first period day or on the first Sunday after the period starts. It is strictly recommended to be careful and not leave out a dose; provided it happened follow the regulations on the label precisely.
