Generic name of the drug is loxapine. It is a preparation of a tricyclic antipsychotic. Therapeutic indication: schizophrenia.

Contraindications: intolerance response to Loxitane or to resembling medicines, central nervous system depression, condition of coma, or provided you have been sedated, also current therapy with sodium oxybate. Other possible contraindications: mental, heart, liver problems, glaucoma, problems with urination, Parkinson disease, breast cancer, brain growths or cancer, seizures, and some others. The drug can be also incompatible with barbiturates, narcotics, anticholinergics, benzodiazepines, and some other remedies therefore you should be careful taking them together. Pregnant and breast-feeding women are recommended to consult a doctor before taking the drug.

The remedy is intended to be taken on a regular basis. Do not make up for a left out dose taking more medicine at a time than needed. It is recommended that the full course of treatment was completed even if you feel better after some time. Be cautious giving the medicine elderly people and do not use it in kids.

The drug has a list of adverse effects; it is able to make you sleepy and giddy. If you experience any disturbing sensations apply to your physician or other healthcare provider.
