The active ingredient of Mevacor is called lovastatin. The medication is purposed for prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease. Mind that Mevacor is generally prescribed in complex with exercises and diet and only in case they alone are not sufficient to reduce the rate of cholesterol in blood.
