Generic name of the medicine is primidone. The preparation refers to anticonvulsants and functions by lessening nerve impulses in the nervous system therefore assisting in the reduction of seizures. Therapeutic indication is treatment and prevention of seizures.

The medication is supposed to be taken on a regular basis either with meals or not. Do not exceed the necessary amount or the prescribed period of administration; no abrupt termination of administration should be made at self-will as it may cause abstinence syndrome. Contraindications or conditions that may require doctor's consideration: intolerance response to Mysoline or to phenobarbital, if you are on the therapy with sodium oxybate (GHB), provided you have porphyria, liver, lung or breathing problems, and some other conditions. The medicine is harmful for a future baby and an infant therefore pregnant and nursing women are advised to consult the doctor before taking it. The medication is incompatible with anticoagulants, beta-blockers, clozapine, corticosteroids, estrogen, and etc.

Mysoline can make you giddy and sleepy and has other adverse effects. Adverse effects of the medication can be mild and severe and in case you experience any, or you overdosed apply to your doctor for help.
