Generic name of the medicine is nalidixic acid. The preparation refers to antibacterials and functions by killing certain urinary tract bacteria by preventing essential for them protein production. Therapeutic indication is urinary tract infections.

The medication is supposed to be taken on a regular basis with meals and excessive amount of water. Do not exceed the necessary amount or the prescribed period of administration; no abrupt termination of administration should be made at self-will and full course should be competed in order for the medication to produce its effect. Should you leave out a dose do not make up for it taking two at once.

Contraindications or conditions that may require doctor's consideration: intolerance response to NegGram, if you have the blood disease porphyria or a history of convulsions, Alzheimer disease, a disease of central nervous system, liver or kidney problems, sensitivity to the sun, heartbeat problems and some others. The medication is incompatible with anticoagulants, antiarrhythmics, cyclosporine, melphalan, or theophylline, probenecid, and etc. Make sure there is an interval of 2 to 3 hours before you take products containing magnesium, calcium, sucralfate, aluminum, iron, or zinc. Refrain from alcohol and cigarettes being on the therapy with the drug.

NegGram can make you giddy and sleepy and impair your vision. Adverse effects of the medication can be mild and severe and in case you experience any, or you overdosed apply to your doctor for help.
