Presenting a progestin hormone (generic name - norethindrone) refers to oral contraceptives and is generally used for prevention of pregnancy.

Nor-QD is taken every day either with or without food according to the instruction on the label. It is better to start the therapy on the first day of your menstrual period; otherwise additional methods of birth control are recommended. It is advised to be careful missing doses as it can make the performance of the drug less effective.

The administration of the drug is barred if you have abnormal vaginal bleeding, a history of blood clots, liver problems, breast cancer, or genital cancer, stroke, an unusual or allergic reaction to progestins, other medicines and etc. The medicine should not be taken by pregnant and nursing women. It is recommended to be careful while combining the remedy with acitretin, aprepitant, azole antifungals, beta-adrenergic blockers, lamotrigine and some others.

The medicine can make you giddy and in some cases worsen your condition. Remember that it does not prevent you from the spread of HIV or sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
