Norethindrone (another brand name - Aygestin) is a preparation of a progestin hormone that serves by changing the uterus's lining and it is presupposed for some uterine and menstrual problems. The medication has other therapeutic indications.

It is not indicated for the patients with allergic response to Norethindrone; other contraindications: undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, a history of blood clots, blood vessel problems, breast cancer and etc. Other possible contraindications: diabetes, seizures, migraines, hypertension, heart or kidney problems, or a history of depression. Pregnant and nursing women should not take the medicine. Doctor's consideration is required in the cases of smoking and overweight patients, allergic reactions to any medications and substances. The preparation can be incompatible with aprepitant, carbamazepine, felbamate, corticosteroid, beta-adrenergic blockers, lamotrigine and a list of others.

The remedy is supposed to be consumed with meals on a regular basis with a certain interval of 24 hours. Do not make up for the left out dose taking two pills at once. Do not give it to children.
