Generic name of the medicine is norfloxacin. It is a preparation of a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Therapeutic indication: bacterial infections.

Contraindications: intolerance response to Noroxin or to another fluoroquinolone, kidney inflammation of a tendon, current therapy with antiarrhythmic medicines or nitrofurantoin; there is a list of other possible contraindications that is better to be checked with the doctor. The drug can be also incompatible with antiarrhythmics, NSAIDs, corticosteroids, anticoagulants, live vaccines or mycophenolate, and some others therefore you should be careful taking them together. Pregnant and breast-feeding women are recommended to consult a doctor before taking the drug.

The remedy is intended to be taken on a regular basis at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal washed down with a glass of water. Do not exceed the necessary dose and do not terminate the administration suddenly. Do not make up for a left out dose taking more medicine at a time than needed. Make an interval of 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking Noroxin if you need to take magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc containing products, also didanosine, sucralfate or bismuth subsalicylate. It is recommended that the full course of treatment was completed even if you feel better after some time.
