This cephalosporin antibiotics cures contagions created by bacteria. It works by killing them or interfering with their further spreading. The spectrum of contagions it is intended for is broad: acute flare-ups of chronic bronchitis, throat and tonsil infections, pneumonia, middle ear infections, sinus infections and skin infections. The drug is not intended for the treatment of viral infections.

Do not take it if you have intolerance reaction to cefdinir or resembling drugs (Ceftin, Cefzil, Keflex) and especially penicillin. The medicine is not expected to be harmful for a fetus and nevertheless pregnant women are advised to consult the doctor before taking it; nursing ones should not take it. Problems with liver, conditions of colitis and any hypersensitivity responses are better to be discussed with a physician beforehand. It is forbidden to combine the remedy simultaneously with antacids iron supplements; the interval of 2hours before and after Omnicef should be tolerated. It is prohibited to take it with cefadroxil, cefazolin, cephradine, ceftibuten, cefditoren, cefpodoxime, cefaclor, cefuroxime, and some others. All the supplementary medications are better to be checked with the physician in advance.

The therapy presupposes that you complete the course and not terminate the medication administration even if you start to feel better. It is supposed to be taken regularly exceeding the dose and prescribed period. Do not make up for the left out dose taking two pills at once.
