Generic name of the drug is norgestrel. It represents a progestin hormone and refers to oral contraceptives. It is generally used for prevention of pregnancy.

The administration of the drug should not be taken if you have an unusual or allergic reaction to progestins, other medicines, abnormal vaginal bleeding, a history of blood clots, mental depression, stroke, diabetes, seizures, liver problems, breast cancer, or genital cancer, stroke, and etc. The medicine should not be taken by pregnant and nursing women. It is recommended to be careful while combining the remedy with antibiotics, aprepitant, phenytoin, modafinil, bosentan and some others.

The drug is taken every day according to the instruction on the label. Additional methods of birth control are recommended for the forthcoming 48-hour period.
