The working mechanism of Prandin functions in a way that it reduces the level of blood sugar by means of insulin developed by the pancreas. The medication is purposed for the treatment of the second (non-dependent) diabetes type when taken in combination with other diet and training program and additional medications for the same purpose.

The drug must be taken according to the prescription and the way of administration can be altered only by the doctor and referring to certain conditions. Generally the medicine is used 2-4 times a day half hour before meals.

The remedy is not recommended to be taken in case of intolerance response to repaglinide (active compound). It is not intended for the type 1 diabetes or those in a state of diabetic ketoacidosis.
