Pravachol is a medication for reducing cholesterol and is generally prescribed only in combination with a diet and a program of physical exercises in case the cholesterol lever is extremely high and it is impossible to reduce it by means of the latter only. But it is not prescribed if the high cholesterol level is caused either by alcoholism, or an underactive thyroid gland, or poorly controlled diabetes or a kidney or liver problem.

Pravacol is administered once a day whenever and however you like. It can be taken in combination with other medications (i.e. Questran or Colestid) but only with doctor's prescription and at different days and time. Standard dose for an adult comprises 40 milligrams once a day. Keep it closed not exposed to light and moisture.

Allergic people or the ones having liver problems are not advised to take the medication as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women.
