Generic name of the medicine is probenecid. The preparation functions by lessening the uric acid amount in the body. It is intended for prevention of gouty attacks.

Contraindications: intolerance response to probenecid, blood disorders or disease, kidney disease, or kidney stones, stomach ulcers, recent radiation therapy. The medicine might to be harmful for a fetus and therefore pregnant women are advised to consult the doctor before taking it. Do not combine the medication with the following drugs: aspirin and aspirin-like medicines, topiramate, methotrexate and ketorolac.
