The medication (generic name - Albuterol (salbutamol) is a bronchodilator and works by opening up the airways in the lungs making it easier to breathe. This medicine is used in asthma treatment, staves off and allays the bronchial spasms.

Refrain from taking it provided you have hypersensitivity reaction to Proventil sulfate or other bronchodilators. The same refers to the conditions of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease or irregular heartbeat, overactive thyroid gland, diabetes and any heart problems. Consider all the medications that you want to take simultaneously with Albuterol as they are able to alter the final result. Pay special attention to anti-infection drugs, caffeine, diuretics, medicines for colds, depression, some antibiotics, steroid hormones, etc. Pregnant and breast-feeding women must be careful taking the medication.
