Generic name of the medicine is isosorbide dinitrate. It is intended for relief or prevention of angina pectoris (suffocating chest pain).

The drug should be taken on a regular basis on an empty stomach. Do not make any transformation to the tablet; it should be consumed whole. Do not make up for the left out dose taking two pills at once. Be careful giving the drug to elderly people and kids.

Contraindications: intolerance to the drug or resembling nitrates or nitrites; anemia, glaucoma, a previous head injury or heart attack, heart disease, low blood pressure, or thyroid disease. Be careful while combining the medication with different drugs and pay attention to the following medicines: diltiazem and nifedipine, also sildenafil, and some others for fear of their dangerous interaction. Pregnant women and breast-feeding ones are recommended to consult a doctor before taking the drug.
