Generic name of the medicine is theophylline. It's a bronchodilator. Therapeutic indication: asthma, bronchitis and emphysema.

Contraindications: intolerance to the medication, a stomach ulcer, underactive thyroid, a heart rhythm problem, epilepsy or other seizure disorder, congestive heart failure, kidney disease and some others. If you are in the state of pregnancy or you are breast-feeding it is not recommended to take the drug. It is crucial to be careful while combining the medication with different drugs (especially with carbamazepine, enoxacin, propranolol, ephedrine, erythromycin, and some others) for fear of their undesirable interaction.

The drug should be taken on a regular basis with water. Do not make any transformation to extended-release pills. The therapy should be completed. Do not make up for the left out dose taking two pills at once. Do not exceed the necessary amount or the prescribed period.
