Generic Tenoretic Active Ingredient: Atenolol-chlorthalidone

Generic name of the medicine is atenolol and chlorthalidone. It is a preparation of a beta-blocker and diuretic combination and is intended for lowering high blood pressure. Therapeutic indication: hypertension.

Contraindications: intolerance response to Tenoretic or to any other sulfonamide, congestive heart failure, a very slow heartbeat, problems with urination, current therapy with mibefradil, and some others. Other possible contraindications: adrenal gland tumor, diabetes, gout, liver roblems, systemic lupus erythematosus, emphysema, low blood potassium or low blood sodium, any hypersensitivity reaction, and some others. The drug can be incompatible with antiarrhythmics, clonidine, calcium channel blockers, digitalis, indomethacin, stimulants, alpha-blockers, and some others therefore you should be careful taking them together. Pregnant and breast-feeding women are prohibited to take it.

The remedy is intended to be taken on a regular basis. As the drug evokes excessive urination it is recommended to take it before 6 pm. It is advised that whole course of treatment was completed and not recommended to stop administration abruptly. Do not make up for a left out dose taking more medicine at a time than needed. Administration of the drug in kids is forbidden.

Tenoretic has a list of adverse effects; it can make you sleepy and giddy and more sun-sensitive. Provided you experience any disturbing sensations or suspect an overdose apply to your physician or other healthcare provider.
