Generic name of the medicine is gatifloxacin. The preparation refers to fluoroquinolone antibiotics and functions by interfering with the growth of bacteria. It is intended for respiratory tract infections treatment. It is not presupposed to treat viral infections.

Contraindications: intolerance response to gatifloxacin or resembling antibiotics, heart problems, hardening of the arteries, kidney or liver problems, Alzheimer disease or diabetes. The medicine might to be harmful for a fetus and a baby therefore pregnant and nursing women are advised to consult the doctor before taking it. Do not combine the medication with the following drugs: anticoagulants, arsenic, antidepressants, azole antifungals, antihistamines, diuretics, insulin, ketolide antibiotics, phenothiazines, macrolide antibiotics and some others.

The remedy is intended to be taken with water on a regular basis. It is advised to consume sufficient amounts of liquid being on the therapy with the drug. The medication may require a little time to produce any effect. Should you leave out a dose do not make up for it taking two at once as it may evoke overdose and unwanted effects.
