Generic name of the drug is theophylline. The medication refers to bronchodilators. Therapeutic indications are reversible asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema.

Contraindications: allergy to the drug or resembling medicines, stomach ulcer, epilepsy or other seizure disorder, a heart rhythm problem, congestive heart failure, fluid in your lungs, underactive thyroid, a high fever, liver or kidney disease and other serious conditions. Do not combine the remedy with any drugs before you check the interaction with the doctor (this refers to carbamazepine, cimetidine, enoxacin, erythromycin, fluvoxamin, and some others). Pregnant and nursing women should not take the medication without a proper consultation as it might be harmful for a baby and for a fetus.

The medication represents a controlled-release medication. Take this medicine on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before a meal with a glass of water. Do not make any transformation to the pills. The medication should be taken during the whole period of therapy. Do not make up for the left out dose taking two pills at once.
