Generic name of the medicine is metoprolol. It's a preparation of a beta-blocker and is intended for the prevention of chest pain and treatment of hypertension.

Contraindications: intolerance response to Toprol, kidney or liver problems, diabetes heart or vessel disease, worsening heart failure, heart block, sick sinus syndrome or Raynaud's disease. The drug is incompatible with sotalol; it also can interact with clonidine, dobutamine, isoproterenol and some others therefore you should be careful taking them together. Pregnant and breast-feeding women should consult a doctor on the account of drug administration.

The remedy is intended to be taken with water right after you have a meal. Adhere to a strict schedule. Should you leave out a dose do not make up for it taking two at once as it may evoke overdose and unwanted effects. Do not stop taking the drug abruptly.
