Generic name of the medicine is labetalol. It is a preparation of an adrenergic receptor blocker and is intended for lowering high blood pressure. Therapeutic indication: hypertension. The drug can be taken alone and together with diuretics.

Contraindications: intolerance response to Trandate, a second- or third-degree heart block, heart failure, asthma or other breathing disorders, severe low blood pressure and some others. Other possible contraindications: diabetes, an adrenal gland tumor, kidney, liver, thyroid, lung or breathing problems, and some others. The drug can be incompatible with calcium channel blockers, general anesthetics, cimetidine, digoxin, nitroglycerin, beta-agonists and some others therefore you should be careful taking them together. Pregnant and breast-feeding women are prohibited to take it.
