Generic name of the medicine is tizanidine. It is a skeletal muscle relaxant. Therapeutic indication: muscle spasms. It bars the nerves that induce muscles to contract.

Contraindications: intolerance response to Zanaflex, current therapy with ciprofloxacin or fluvoxamine. Other possible contraindications: liver or kidney problems, also prostate problems, any intolerance responses, and some others. The drug can be also incompatible with acyclovir, antiarrhythmics, hormonal contraceptives, ticlopidine or zileuton, and some other prescription and over-the-counter remedies therefore you should be careful taking them together. Pregnant women are recommended to consult a doctor before taking the drug and breast-feeding ones are prohibited to take it.

The remedy is intended to be taken on a regular basis. Follow the directions on the label precisely. Do not make up for a left out dose taking more medicine at a time than needed. Do not terminate the administration abruptly; it should be made gradually otherwise abstinence syndrome can be evoked.
