High rate of cholesterol in blood may lead to heart problems such as heart disease, heart attack etc. Zocor (generic name simvastatin) is a drug for reducing cholesterol level.

It is not advised to use Zocor unless you consult a doctor about the following cases: what other drugs you are taking, be it minerals or vitamins, if you have diabetes, problems with kidneys or else. Pregnant or nursing women are also not to take the medication as well as people allergic to simvastatin or other drugs.

The prescription defines the administration and should be followed. Generally administration is combined with appropriate diet and physical exercises. Zocor is taken with an evening meal and a glass of water, kept in a dark dry place at room temperature.

Strongly advised that you do without any alcohol and be careful with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.
